My EB-2 India priority date is current under the bulletin. I filed I-485 years ago and the case retrogressed, but I have not received a medical RFE yet. Some people suggest sending unsolicited medicals now. Is that useful, or should I wait for USCIS to issue an RFE?

The safest response is always to a formal RFE because it includes the correct return instructions.

Some people send unsolicited medicals when their date is current, but results are inconsistent.
