Does automatic visa revalidation change I-94 from parole back to H-1B?

If someone previously entered on Advance Parole and later uses automatic visa revalidation or travels briefly, does that change their I-94 classification from parole back to H-1B? I am seeing different interpretations and want to understand the issue before asking an attorney.
